Cindy Losekamp has been sewing since she was three years old. Her Grandmother taught her there wasn’t anything she couldn't do and there was no such thing as no. When something needed to be sewn…Grandma could do it. Cindy has adopted that can do attitude…never taking no as the answer and always being able to find a new way to do things. With that in mind, Cindy pioneered creating hand look embroideries using the stitches from the sewing machine and then created the first “crocheted” pillowcase girls with 12 weight cotton thread and the sewing machine, moving into the embroidery world with the same kind of effects. Her creations are always thought to be vintage pieces until the truth is told and then the amazement sets in. No one thinks they are made with a machine. Besides creating the vintage look, she has created many beautiful landscapes with fiber and thread, a line of sweatshirt modifications in books, patterns and CD’s and written over fifty books, patterns and other publications.

Cindy is a fun and enlightening teacher known for her incredible amount of samples and ingenious way of creating. She has been a guest on many of the PBS sewing shows like "America Sews" and "America Quilts Creatively" and she has traveled extensively...nationally as well as internationally...teaching her methods of machine art to students of all ranges. Cindy has loved being on the cutting edge of the creative side of sewing. She has been teaching for over 25 years and her students love her patient and understandable style. Cindy is president of her own company, Sew Artfully Yours, Inc. which she began in 1998. You will enjoy learning from this exciting and empowering sewing personality.

Thursday, 9 am – 11 am
Cut And Paste Collage
Hands-on workshop without using sewing machines
Class fee: $20 Kit fee: $25
What comes first…the collage or the shirt? You will find that each process will lead naturally to the next, from initial concept and fabric selection to surface design, stitching, fusing and embellishing. You will love creating your one of a kind masterpiece with Cindy's kind and gentle encouragement. You'll have your choice of several kit combinations. Bring a denim, linen or cotton shirt, or even a jacket that needs some embellishing. Bring your favorite bits…not too many…just a few to make it your own. There is no sewing in this class…you can add your stitching at home. Come and join in the fun!
Kit fee will be paid directly to the instructor.

Creative Panache With Applique
Lecture
Class fee: $20
Learn what it means to master appliqué using a myriad of techniques on quilts, clothing, sweatshirts, wallhangings and home dec samples. You'll see decorative stitch methods, free motion ideas, working from the wrong side with heavy bobbin threads, raw edge techniques, embroidery appliqué and more. Learn about Angelina as a fabric, the best fusible to use, interfacing for shadow through…if you want to appliqué it, there is a way…let Cindy show you how. Join us for this new and innovative hour of power appliquéing.

Art Quilts In The Making
Lecture
Class fee: $10
Using any sewing machine, embroidery machine, felting machine or even just stitching by hand…you will love creating these small wonders of beauty. Use all the tools that you have, from rotary cutters, pinking blades, fusibles, bits and pieces of cording and lace, buttons and beads…anything you can think of or have stashed away, waiting for that special time. Over the last 29 years of creative sewing…Cindy has learned a lot, taught a lot and created a lot. Now it's your turn to create what is in your heart and deliver it via your hands. Learn all the basics and get a myriad of ideas for your own art quilt creations in this beautiful and inspiring class.

Dye One On
Hands-on without using sewing machines
Class fee $30 Kit fee: $30
Dyeing cloth is an age old passion. Even if you've tried it before or you are just the slightest bit interested in how it's done…you will love this "hands on" excursion into the world of dye. Our project is a silk scarf…beautiful in its own right but we will enhance it with color. We'll be using procion dyes for an amazing vibrancy you just can't get with other types of dye. Cindy will lead you through the processes helping you dye three scarves. Each one will be more beautiful than the last. This is a great way to experience the excitement and fulfillment dyeing fabric brings. Cindy gives you the stepping stones to dyeing your own fabric for garments and quilts. Truly Exciting! Kit fee will be paid directly to the instructor.

Bring A Sweatshirt And Modify With Cindy!
Hands-on without using sewing machines
Class fee: $20 Kit fee: $25
Here's your chance to bring a shirt to class and get it ready for embellishment. You will learn the proper method for finding the center, stabilizing the center front, learn how to add clear elastic to the neckline for strength, cut up the shirt and fit it, stabilize the hemline…anything and everything can be done without a sewing machine…there will be at least one in class for basic basting if needed. The purpose of this class is to give you the courage to do it yourself at home…instead of thinking about it or doing it and not being happy with the results…this will jumpstart your success and you'll be ready to go home and start creating! Join Cindy for this great class! All your stabilizers and your choice of pattern come with the class. Kit fee will be paid directly to the instructor.

Stuffed Embroidery
Lecture
Class fee: $10
Cindy has developed a different kind of applique embroidery that gives an amazing dimensional quality unlike any you've seen. You will use yarns, wool felts, fiber, roving…all the cool stuff you've bought but haven't gotten around to using. Since developing this technique, she has created new collections of simple and quick designs so you can be Über-creative in just a moment of time. These sew so quick you won't believe it. Add these to your other collections and do embroideries along with the new "Stuffed Embroidery" for unique creations. Join us and see what the "Stuffs" about!

Saturday, 9 am – 11 am
Creating Your Own Silk Screens in 30 Minutes Or Less
Hands-on without using sewing machines
Class fee: $20 Kit fee: $25
Cindy will show you how easy it is to make your own silkscreens using the sun or a light box. You don't need lots of equipment to create long lasting screens. Use your own art, clipart, or geometric shapes to create your "one of a kind" silk screens. After you create your screen, you will be able to use it to silk screen on a linen hand towel and then a T-shirt in class. Cindy has the blank screens to create more after class or the already completed screens should you just want to "use em", not "make em".

Public Show
Vendor Sales
full time position – immediate opening
As a Public Show Salesperson you will be responsible for the financial success of our public expo events. You will be responsible for selling the expo by contacting former vendors and cold calling potential new vendors as well as sponsorship and help build attendance. Your responsibility will be to foster and maintain relationships with key industry accounts to increase vendor sales and attendance by communicating the value of the event. Candidate will also assist in expanding to different markets.
